Field-Based Claims Investigator

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Field-Based Claims Investigator to join a leading insurance organization. This role offers significant independence, a dynamic workload, and the chance to cover the West and North-West regions of Ireland, with occasional flexibility to assist in other counties as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site investigations for various claim types including Motor Claims, Public Liability, Employers Liability, and fraud detection where applicable.
• Visit accident locations, workplaces, customer residences, and repair facilities to collect evidence.
• Interview policyholders and witnesses by taking statements and thorough assessments.
• Carry out detailed liability evaluations and identify any indicators of fraudulent activity.
• Prepare detailed, clear, and well-structured investigation reports to support the claims team.
• Operate autonomously while maintaining effective collaboration with the wider claims department.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of 3–5 years’ direct experience as a Claims Investigator OR over 10 years’ experience handling Motor and Liability claims with proven expertise in liability assessment.
• Comprehensive understanding of case law and pertinent Irish legislation.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities, including interviewing skills.
• Capability to manage caseloads independently.
• A valid full driving license is essential.
• Possession of a personal vehicle (mileage expenses reimbursed) or willingness to use a company vehicle (benefits-in-kind apply).

Location Details

The role primarily covers counties in West and North-West Ireland including Galway, Mayo, Roscommon, Clare, Donegal, Sligo, and Leitrim. Specific area responsibilities can be addressed during the interview process.

Compensation and Benefits

• €65,000 annual salary.
