Vice President, Project Delivery

Position Overview

The Vice President of Project Delivery leads the development and execution of the organization's comprehensive project delivery strategy. This senior leadership role oversees all facets of project delivery initiatives, including project portfolio management, PMO setup and governance, resource planning, quality assurance, client project delivery, and ongoing operational improvements. The focus is on ensuring projects meet timelines, stay within allocated budgets, and uphold high standards of quality to maximize client satisfaction, business goals, and sustainable company growth.

This position centers around key areas such as project delivery management, governance frameworks, operational excellence, and customer success enhancement. The role advances the establishment of a standardized enterprise-level project delivery system, streamlines delivery processes, optimizes resource deployment, drives digital transformation in operations, and elevates organizational execution capabilities.

Typically reporting to top leadership such as the COO, SVP of Global Delivery, EVP of Operations, President, or CEO, this role is a vital member of the enterprise’s project delivery leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement strategic plans for project delivery aligned with corporate objectives.
• Create and maintain an enterprise-level Project Delivery Management Framework with defined standards and governance.
• Supervise project portfolio management by reviewing project initiations, prioritizations, and resource allocations to optimize ROI.
• Oversee end-to-end project implementation, including scope, timeline, cost, and quality management.
• Establish and lead the Project Management Office (PMO), developing policies, review mechanisms, and knowledge sharing systems to raise project management maturity.
• Manage customer delivery systems to foster client relationships, drive value realization, and enhance satisfaction and retention.
• Develop delivery operations frameworks emphasizing Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement to optimize efficiency and processes.
• Lead resource planning strategies, quality management systems, audits, and construct high-performing delivery teams.
• Advocate the adoption of digital tools such as AI, RPA, analytics dashboards, and automated platforms for data-driven project delivery and transparency.
• Promote cross-functional collaboration with sales, product, R&D, customer success, and finance teams to streamline delivery and improve the overall customer experience.
• Build and continuously enhance the project delivery organizational structure, talent development, leadership, and culture committed to delivery excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Advanced degrees such as MBA or Master of Engineering Management (MEM) are preferred.
• Over 25 years of experience in project management, project delivery, or operations roles.
• Minimum 15 years managing large-scale projects or portfolios, including establishing and governing enterprise-level PMOs.
• Proven background managing complex, large projects and digital transformation initiatives.
• Industry experience preferred in IT, healthcare, finance, manufacturing, or enterprise services.
• Experience managing multinational teams is highly desirable.
• Strong competencies in strategic project delivery planning, portfolio governance, risk and quality management, financial oversight, data analysis, cross-functional leadership, and team development.
