Job description
Role Overview
The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), under the Minister of National Development, is a pivotal statutory board shaping Singapore’s urban landscape. Within the Conservation and Urban Design Group (CUDG), the Urban Design departments contribute significantly to drafting district masterplans and city rejuvenation strategies. To enhance planning and design through data-driven approaches, CUDG is implementing digital transformation initiatives integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI), automation, and contemporary digital platforms to bolster decision-making, knowledge management, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with architects, planners, and IT groups to lead the creation and enhancement of AI-powered digital solutions improving knowledge management and operational workflows.
- Develop automation scripts and streamline workflows to tackle tedious manual tasks, especially in document processing, data handling, and file organization.
- Manage end-to-end delivery by bridging front-end and back-end system requirements, coordinating with vendors and IT teams to realize functional solutions.
- Promote user adoption through testing, training, and change management to ensure the successful implementation of new tools.
- Investigate and implement emerging technologies such as AI to refine planning, design, and operational processes.
Contract Goals
- Produce working automation tools or scripts addressing critical workflow challenges.
- Achieve tangible reduction in manual processing efforts for identified tasks.
- Establish sustainable, user-friendly solutions maintainable by the in-house team.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, IT, or closely related fields.
- Experience in business analysis, system implementation, or delivering digital products.
- Strong comprehension of software development practices, system integrations, and solution architectures.
- Competency in scripting and automation technologies such as PowerShell, Python, or equivalents.
- Excellent analytical capabilities and stakeholder engagement skills to dissect workflows and identify automation prospects.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge
- Hands-on experience with AI, Generative AI, or Large Language Model (LLM) technologies.
- Understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), enterprise search mechanisms, knowledge management, or chatbot deployments.
- Background in handling systems deployment, vendor coordination, user acceptance testing, and solution rollout.
- Familiarity with GIS applications and automation tools like ArcGIS Pro and ArcPy.
- Expertise in automating document and data workflows across standard office software.
- Experience providing user-focused technical support or executing implementations.
