About the Role
We invite an experienced Senior Reporting Analyst to take a lead role in advancing the reporting and business intelligence services within Business Registries. This permanent Auckland-based position combines technical expertise and strategic leadership, focusing on the design, administration, and continuous enhancement of the reporting environment.
You will steer the data strategy, identifying and capitalizing on data-related opportunities while improving reporting capabilities and information management. Collaborate with geographically dispersed teams across Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch, as well as stakeholders both internal to MBIE and external, to deliver insightful reports that support data-driven decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and advance the Business Registries’ reporting and business intelligence systems.
- Lead strategic planning relating to data usage, reporting capabilities, and information governance.
- Coordinate workflow, develop team skills, and uphold reporting best practices within the Reporting Team.
- Partner with a broad range of stakeholders to produce insightful analytics and reports.
Experience and Skills Required
- Demonstrated success in delivering sophisticated reporting and analytics solutions in challenging environments.
- Deep knowledge of business intelligence tools and reporting software.
- Advanced skills with SAP BusinessObjects including Universe design, report generation, and dashboard creation.
- Ability to translate complex business needs into effective reporting methodologies.
- Capability to analyze intricate datasets and extract actionable insights.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude, with keen understanding of trends, issues, and opportunities.
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience leading projects, encouraging continuous improvements, and influencing decisions.
- Organizational prowess and competent prioritization of multiple tasks.
- Prior exposure to public sector environments viewed favorably.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary range for this role is NZD 101,911 to 121,196 annually, accompanied by KiwiSaver contributions and wellness perks.
