Job description
The Opportunity
Join our expanding team in Hamilton as a Senior Engineering Geologist or Senior Geotechnical Engineer with a focus on geotechnical asset management. Daily tasks vary widely, presenting new challenges to solve. You will apply your expertise to plan and execute projects, producing plans, reports, proposals, and specifications tailored to client needs.
Responsibilities include conducting desk-based site assessments through aerial photo analysis, data research, and literature review to guide project investigation and design phases. You will manage fieldwork by commissioning drilling teams, coordinating lab tests, and leading detailed site investigations such as field mapping, borehole logging, sampling, monitoring, and hand augering.
Developing 2D and 3D geological models will be key to defining problems and informing design decisions. Your proficiency with computer-aided data analysis like slope stability modeling will enhance evaluations. You will conduct reconnaissance of sites with natural hazards, advising on remediation designs while aligning solutions with client requirements.
From project scoping and planning through to delivery, you will manage budgets and schedules effectively, lead multidisciplinary teams, and cultivate strong relationships internally and with clients. Supporting senior leaders in acquiring new business is also part of the role.
About You
You bring a qualification in Engineering Geology or Geotechnical Engineering (postgraduate preferred) and a passion for problem-solving.
