Role Overview
The position involves managing and analyzing sales data to support business operations and decision-making processes. The workplace environment is described as positive with good communication channels.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain detailed and accurate databases capturing sales transactions, customer details, product information, quantities sold, and generated revenue.
- Regularly update and reconcile sales records to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Create periodic reports detailing sales performance, market trends, and key performance indicators using various data analysis tools.
- Conduct thorough sales data analyses to uncover trends, potential opportunities, and areas needing improvement.
- Develop presentations and summaries for management and stakeholders emphasizing significant findings and actionable recommendations.
- Support sales forecasting efforts by evaluating historical data and market trends.
- Work alongside sales teams to formulate sales targets and strategies grounded in data insights.
- Operate and maintain Sales Management Information Systems (MIS) and related software to facilitate sales operations.
- Provide training and assistance to sales personnel on the effective use of MIS and associated tools.
- Coordinate with sales, marketing, and other departments to gather pertinent data and insights.
- Communicate analytical findings and strategic recommendations clearly to management and cross-functional teams.
- Identify and suggest improvements to sales processes, enhancing data accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Implement solutions to optimize the workflows related to sales reporting and analysis.
- Ensure adherence to data protection laws and company policies in handling and storing sales data.
- Adopt measures to protect sensitive information and prevent unauthorized access.
Qualifications and Skills
- A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Statistics, or a related field.
- Experience in sales analysis, MIS management, or similar roles is preferred, especially within the FMCG sector.
- Competency in data analysis software such as Microsoft Excel, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent platforms.
- Strong analytical abilities to interpret complex datasets and translate them into actionable business insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to detail with an emphasis on maintaining data integrity.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in dynamic, fast-paced work settings and handle shifting priorities.
- Knowledge of sales management systems and ERP software is advantageous.
- Certification in data analysis or related disciplines is considered a plus.
