Role Overview

This contract position is for a Junior Manual Tester located in the New York City Metropolitan Area, offering a hybrid work setup that blends onsite presence with remote flexibility. The role involves running test cases, executing functional and regression testing, and systematically documenting outcomes for web-based and enterprise software applications. Key duties include detecting and recording defects, monitoring issue resolution progress, and verifying fixes in collaboration with developers and business analysts. The tester will also assess requirements and specifications, prepare detailed test documentation, and actively participate in test planning activities. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to maintain and enhance quality assurance processes is essential.

Candidate Qualifications

• Proficient in core manual testing practices such as writing and executing test cases, identifying defects, and conducting regression testing.
• Skilled in analyzing requirements and preparing clear, concise test documentation and reports.
• Familiarity with software development life cycles, issue-tracking tools like JIRA, and operating in common browser and OS environments.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, and structured verification of functionality and user experiences.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to coordinate effectively with developers, analysts, and project managers in a hybrid work environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience in computer science, IT, or related fields, including relevant internships or projects in software testing or quality assurance.
• Additional assets include knowledge of test management tools, basic SQL and database understanding for validating data, and awareness of QA best practices in the industry.
