Hostel Warden

Role Overview

The Hostel Warden will oversee daily management of the hostel, ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of all residents while maintaining order and discipline according to institute policies.

Primary Duties

• Supervise routine hostel operations and resident activities.
• Enforce hostel rules and institutional guidelines consistently.
• Address and resolve resident complaints and conflicts promptly and fairly.
• Track attendance, visitor logs, and room occupancy status.
• Manage admissions, room assignments, and check-in/check-out procedures effectively.
• Conduct regular cleanliness and hygiene inspections of rooms and communal areas.
• Collaborate with housekeeping, maintenance, and security teams to ensure smooth functioning.
• Respond swiftly to emergencies and implement necessary measures.
• Maintain comprehensive records such as incident reports and inventory logs.
• Organize meetings with residents to foster a harmonious living environment.
• Ensure adherence to health, fire, and safety regulations within the hostel premises.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline is preferred.
• Prior experience in managing hostels, residential facilities, or student accommodations is advantageous.
• Strong leadership capabilities coupled with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage emergencies and mediate conflicts efficiently.
• Basic proficiency in computer applications including MS Office and record keeping.
