Cybersecurity Analyst

Job Summary

This role is for a proactive and detail-focused cybersecurity professional who will help safeguard the company’s systems, networks, and information from digital threats. The position is fully remote and calls for strong analytical thinking, quick incident handling, and a forward-looking approach to security operations.

Core Responsibilities

• Track security alerts and activity through SIEM and other monitoring platforms.
• Review, investigate, and respond to security incidents promptly.
• Carry out vulnerability checks and help drive remediation work.
• Watch network activity for signs of suspicious or harmful behavior.
• Set up, maintain, and improve security controls, policies, and recommended practices.
• Assess risk and suggest practical ways to strengthen protection.
• Work closely with IT, DevOps, and engineering teams to improve overall security.
• Support endpoint protection, identity and access management, and data protection efforts.
• Keep security records, incident documentation, and compliance files up to date.
• Assist with security awareness initiatives and help ensure regulatory compliance.

Required Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a similar discipline is needed.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or security operations is required.
• Working knowledge of network security, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, and SIEM tools is expected.
• Hands-on exposure to tools such as Microsoft Defender, Splunk, Sentinel, CrowdStrike, Qualys, or Tenable is important.
• Understanding of frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, or SOC 2 is needed.
• Familiarity with Windows, Linux, cloud environments, and networking basics is required.
• Strong analytical ability, troubleshooting skills, and incident response experience are essential.
• Good written and verbal communication, along with solid documentation skills, is necessary.
• The ability to work independently in a remote setup is important.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CEH, CISSP, GIAC, or similar credentials are preferred.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud security would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash is helpful.
• Background in vulnerability management, penetration testing, or threat intelligence is valued.
• Familiarity with compliance requirements such as HIPAA, PCI DSS, GDPR, or CCPA is preferred.
