Compliance Officer

About the role

Qantas, established in the Queensland outback in 1920, is now Australia’s largest airline group, serving regional, domestic, and international markets through Qantas and Jetstar. Its wider group also includes subsidiary businesses that help support operations across the network.

This permanent full-time role is based in Mascot and supports Qantas ground operations across a national Ground Support Equipment (GSE) network. The position is designed for someone who enjoys structured, hands-on operational work and wants to contribute to a safe, consistent, and compliant aviation environment.

What you will do

• Help ensure compliance with Group and GSE policies, procedures, and schedules across multiple ports.
• Support the tracking of deliverables, milestones, and corrective actions so site timeframes are met.
• Maintain clear and accurate records, documentation, and reporting related to compliance activity.
• Provide practical first-line guidance to operational teams on compliance matters.
• Work with internal stakeholders, airport authorities, and external suppliers to keep activities aligned.
• Assist with ongoing business-as-usual compliance tasks, including airside access, permits, and operational paperwork.
• Take part in weekly team meetings, improvement initiatives, and updates to ways of working.

Experience and skills

To succeed in this position, you should be comfortable supporting compliance activity in logistics or maintenance environments, with a strong eye for detail and the ability to manage documentation accurately. Experience with audits and assurance work is important, and familiarity with IFS software or another maintenance information system would be an advantage.
