Role overview

This permanent full-time position is based at the Qantas Campus in Mascot. The role suits someone who enjoys working with data, analysis, and actionable insights, and who wants to contribute to performance outcomes for one of Australia’s leading brands.

Qantas places a strong emphasis on data-led decision-making, using modern tools and technology to process information, build insights, and evaluate the impact of strategy and performance. In this role, you will support forecasting, modelling, and reporting that drive commercial success for sales teams and the broader Qantas Group.

Key responsibilities

You will help shape and manage a new forecasting framework, contribute to sales budget setting and target development, and provide forward-looking measures that sales teams can use to manage and assess performance. The position also involves commercial reporting, initiative tracking, and cross-functional collaboration.

Experience and capability requirements

Applicants should have tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Finance, Business, or a similar discipline. At least 3 years of experience in a comparable analytical or commercial role is required, with finance experience considered highly valuable. Strong financial modelling and forecasting ability is essential, along with the capability to turn complex data into practical commercial objectives.

Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills are mandatory, and experience with Power BI is preferred. The ideal candidate will be commercially curious, detail-oriented, comfortable exploring what the data means for the business, and capable of juggling multiple priorities and deadlines in a high-pressure environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills are also important, particularly when working with stakeholders who have different needs and expectations.
