About Qantas

Qantas, established in the Queensland outback in 1920, is now Australia’s largest airline group across regional, domestic, and international travel. Alongside its core airline operations, the Qantas Group also includes subsidiary businesses that help support the wider organisation. Its main activity is moving passengers and freight through two complementary brands, Qantas and Jetstar, across regional, domestic, and international networks.

Role overview

This permanent full-time position is based at the Qantas Campus in Mascot. The role suits someone who enjoys working with data, analysis, and actionable insights, and who wants to contribute to performance outcomes for one of Australia’s leading brands.

Qantas places a strong emphasis on data-led decision-making, using modern tools and technology to process information, build insights, and evaluate the impact of strategy and performance. In this role, you will support forecasting, modelling, and reporting that drive commercial success for sales teams and the broader Qantas Group.

Key responsibilities

You will help shape and manage a new forecasting framework, contribute to sales budget setting and target development, and provide forward-looking measures that sales teams can use to manage and assess performance. The position also involves commercial reporting, initiative tracking, and cross-functional collaboration.

Experience and capability requirements

Applicants should have tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Finance, Business, or a similar discipline. At least 3 years of experience in a comparable analytical or commercial role is required, with finance experience considered highly valuable. Strong financial modelling and forecasting ability is essential, along with the capability to turn complex data into practical commercial objectives.

Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills are mandatory, and experience with Power BI is preferred. The ideal candidate will be commercially curious, detail-oriented, comfortable exploring what the data means for the business, and capable of juggling multiple priorities and deadlines in a high-pressure environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills are also important, particularly when working with stakeholders who have different needs and expectations.

Why join Qantas

Qantas offers a workplace where creativity and passion are encouraged, with opportunities to grow both personally and professionally. You will receive support from day one through on-the-job coaching and formal training, and there are many possible career pathways within the wider business.

Employee benefits

Qantas provides a benefits program that goes well beyond travel. Eligible employees can access heavily discounted air travel for themselves, family, and friends, along with special offers on accommodation and holidays.

The company also offers flexible leave options, including 18 weeks of paid parental leave plus superannuation on all paid and unpaid parental leave until the child turns one, as well as additional purchased leave for eligible employees.

Employees can also benefit from thousands of rewards and discounts covering shopping, food and wine, insurance, health and wellbeing, leisure, and entertainment. Salary packaging is available for items such as motor vehicles, eligible portable electronic devices, and professional memberships.

Wellbeing support includes resources to help with mental health, an interactive wellbeing app, and a personalised nutrition plan.

Equal opportunity and application conditions

Qantas is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and people from all backgrounds, are encouraged to apply. Any support or access needs should be shared at the time of application, and personal information will be handled confidentially in line with privacy laws.

Applications close on 22 July 2026. Only candidates who already have unrestricted right to work in Australia or New Zealand, without sponsorship, will be considered.
