About Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc
Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc is Nigeria’s foremost integrated sugar producer, specializing in refining and distributing fortified and unfortified sugar varieties. Operating as a subsidiary of Dangote Industries Limited, it supplies refined sugar to consumer and industrial markets across Nigeria. Their products include Vitamin A fortified sugar intended for direct consumption and unfortified sugar for industrial uses like pharmaceuticals and food production. Dangote Sugar's refining facility, located in Apapa, boasts the largest capacity in Sub-Saharan Africa at 1.44 million tonnes annually.
Role Summary
The Tracking & Control Officer is responsible for ensuring comprehensive monitoring and oversight of all Dangote Sugar Refinery transport trucks. This role involves preparing regular reports, documenting any truck-related incidents, and providing timely information to management.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate tracking and management of all company vehicles.
- Supervise truck movements to ensure route adherence and optimize operational efficiency.
- Create and enforce preventive maintenance plans to enhance driver safety and minimize vehicle degradation.
- Identify and escalate issues such as driver non-compliance, vehicle incidents, illegal transport activities, violation of estimated arrival times, poor driving habits, and other operational challenges.
- Coordinate with drivers and Fleet Managers to facilitate smooth transport operations and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Perform regular vehicle inspections and suggest necessary corrective measures.
- Compile and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly reports on vehicle locations, speeds, compliance, utilization, and operational concerns.
- Manage fleet presentation standards, accident documentation, incidents of deliberate damage, vehicle upkeep, and servicing activities.
- Offer support to various internal teams and departments as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Transport Management, or a related field.
- Membership in the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport or similar recognized professional bodies.
- A minimum of four years’ experience in a comparable transport or fleet management role.
Technical and Professional Skills
- Expertise in fleet vehicle tracking and monitoring systems.
- Proficiency in scheduling maintenance activities.
- Strong knowledge of genuine vehicle parts and accessories.
- Understanding of applicable traffic laws and transportation regulations.
- Familiarity with software solutions for vehicle tracking and scheduling.
Skills and Personal Attributes
