Role overview
This position is for a Quality Engineer working in a regulated aerospace manufacturing setting in Shannon, County Clare. The role is centered on running daily quality activities, ensuring the business remains aligned with aerospace standards, and supporting the site’s quality and compliance obligations.
You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to safeguard product quality, manage quality issues, prepare for audits, and help strengthen processes through ongoing improvement efforts.
Quality management system
- Take ownership of the Quality Management System and keep it aligned with AS9100 and ISO 9001 requirements.
- Create, update, and maintain the procedures, process flows, and records needed for the quality system.
- Help ensure all activities remain in line with aerospace quality expectations.
Regulatory and certification support
- Assist with activities linked to EASA Part 21G Production Organisation Approval.
- Support compliance with the applicable aerospace regulatory framework.
- Help prepare for certification audits and surveillance visits.
Daily quality operations
- Oversee everyday quality assurance across manufacturing, assembly, and inspection functions.
- Check that products and processes continue to meet requirements throughout production.
Audits and compliance
- Carry out internal audits.
- Coordinate audits conducted by customers, regulators, and certification bodies.
- Track audit findings through to completion and make sure corrective actions are closed on time.
Non-conformance and CAPA
- Investigate non-conforming issues and drive them to resolution.
- Use root cause analysis to identify why problems occurred.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to stop recurrence.
Supplier quality
- Monitor supplier performance from a quality perspective.
- Support supplier approval activities and supplier audits.
Engineering and production partnership
- Work in coordination with engineering and production teams.
- Make sure quality requirements are built into both design and manufacturing processes.
Process improvement and reporting
- Contribute to initiatives that improve quality, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Help drive practical improvements across manufacturing operations.
- Prepare quality reports, metrics, and performance summaries.
- Provide information for management reviews and customer-related reporting needs.
Calibration and equipment control
- Maintain the calibration system and associated records.
- Plan and coordinate calibration tasks.
- Ensure inspection and test equipment stays calibrated and compliant.
