Procurement Specialist

Role overview

This part-time, remote Procurement Specialist position focuses on keeping purchasing activities smooth, efficient, and cost-conscious for video production needs as well as broader business operations. The role supports the timely sourcing of goods and services while helping the company stay aligned with budget and delivery expectations.

What you'll do

• Draft, submit, and manage purchase orders from start to finish.
• Maintain accurate purchasing logs and keep order tracking up to date.
• Follow up on orders to help ensure deliveries arrive on schedule.
• Assess suppliers and help sustain productive vendor relationships.
• Collect quotations, compare alternatives, and identify the best-value option.
• Support discussions around contracts to help secure better pricing and terms.
• Watch inventory or resource requirements and flag upcoming purchasing needs.
• Review cost information and suggest ways to improve procurement efficiency.
• Work closely with production, finance, and project management teams so purchasing choices match project timelines and budget limits.

Qualifications and requirements

• Hands-on experience handling procurement and purchase order workflows, including creating, following up on, and reconciling orders.
• Ability to evaluate suppliers based on performance, dependability, pricing, and service standards.
• Capability to assist with, and potentially lead, negotiations involving price, contract terms, and service levels.
• Strong analytical thinking to compare quotes, study cost patterns, and make informed buying recommendations.
• Prior background in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing coordination is preferred, especially in a creative, media, or technology setting.
• Excellent organization, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to juggle several requests in a remote part-time environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for working with both internal stakeholders and external vendors.
• Comfort using spreadsheets and procurement or ERP software; post-secondary study in business, supply chain, or a related discipline is considered an advantage.
