Job Location & Interview Details
This role is based in Bangalore with work locations in Whitefield, Thubarahalli, Prestige Shantiniketan, and International Tech Park (IT Park). The walk-in interview is scheduled for August 11, 2026 (Tuesday) from 10 AM to 1 PM at HDFC Bank, No 1/1, Old No 118, Whitefield Main Road, Opposite Reliance Fresh, Bangalore 560066 (Branch Code - 2377).
Role Overview
The Preferred Relationship Manager (RM) will be responsible for managing and expanding the High Net Worth Individual (HNI) customers by including them in the Preferred program. This role focuses on delivering superior customer service, cross-selling products, retaining and enhancing customer portfolios, and acquiring new preferred banking relationships. The RM acts as a single point of contact for customer financial services to grow profitability and wallet share.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow HNI portfolio by acquiring, deepening, and retaining relationships.
- Coordinate with Preferred Banking teams to identify eligible clients from classic and preferred portfolios.
- Establish strong rapport with customers through frequent engagement to update profiles and understand needs.
- Drive portfolio growth in terms of value and quality while maintaining hygiene standards.
- Cross-sell bank products suited to customer requirements, including advisory services in partnership with Product Banking Group.
- Collaborate with supervisors on joint client meetings as per process guidelines.
- Monitor customer attrition and strive to meet monthly and yearly revenue targets.
- Ensure error-free documentation and strict adherence to KYC, AML, and 5-S workplace standards.
- Expand wallet share by identifying cross-selling opportunities including sales to customers' family members and business associates.
- Maintain optimal levels of Income Producing Holding (IPGH) and support product penetration goals.
- Deliver high-quality customer service by resolving queries efficiently and maintaining proactive communication regarding changes, complaints, and program features.
- Promote direct banking channel usage and smooth portfolio handovers.
Qualifications and Skills
- Graduation required; Post-graduation preferred.
- Certifications like AMFI, IRDA required; NCFM certification is optional.
- Strong sales and influencing capabilities.
- In-depth understanding of banking products, processes, and NRI regulatory environment.
- Ability to plan and organize effectively.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Awareness of competition and financial industry trends.
Experience
Applicants should have between 2 to 6 years of relevant banking experience, preferably with exposure to portfolio management for HNI clientele.
Stakeholders
The RM will engage with internal teams including branch banking, operations, product and asset teams, credit, treasury, insurance partners, AMCs, and securities divisions.
