About the Role
This opportunity is offered by a partner organization seeking an Outreach Specialist based in the United States. The role contributes directly to enhancing healthcare outcomes by bridging the connection among patients, pharmacies, and healthcare providers through cutting-edge technology.
As an Outreach Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and addressing medication-related challenges using a healthcare technology platform while collaborating closely with clinical teams. This mission-driven position requires effective communication, problem-solving skills, and operational execution to improve patient care quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Make outbound calls to pharmacy teams to assist patient care efforts and manage medication-related cases found via healthcare technology systems.
- Engage professionally with pharmacy personnel to resolve issues, collect necessary information, and escalate cases as needed to clinical staff.
- Recognize and document follow-up actions and create escalation workflows for clinical interventions.
- Gather contact and patient details essential for facilitating clinical treatments.
- Maintain accurate records and documentations within internal platforms.
- Navigate and troubleshoot phone systems, including Interactive Voice Response (IVR), applying critical thinking to overcome barriers.
- Participate actively in team meetings and contribute to process improvements and workflow optimizations.
- Support additional projects and operational tasks as assigned, ensuring compliance with healthcare information privacy and security standards.
Candidate Profile and Requirements
- Minimum six months experience within a high-volume healthcare call center setting.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and knowledge of brand and generic medication names.
- Proficiency with computer systems, including Google Workspace and call center dialer software.
- Ability to effectively handle inquiries, objections, or resistance from pharmacy staff and properly escalate when necessary.
- Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Understanding of protected health information (PHI) access guidelines and responsibilities.
- Strong organizational aptitude with meticulous attention to detail for accurate documentation.
- Self-motivated, capable of working independently, and contributing positively within a remote team-based environment.
- Availability to work 40 hours weekly during operating hours of Monday to Friday, 6 AM–6 PM Pacific Time, with up to two rotating Saturdays monthly.
- Eligibility to pass a background screening and legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Experience with auto-dialer systems is advantageous.
