About the Role

This position is for a Sanitation Operator at the Brantford, Ontario bakery. The role is responsible for keeping the production environment clean, safe, and compliant with food safety, quality, and regulatory expectations.

Shift and Schedule

• 12-hour rotating continental shift
• Working hours: 5:45 AM to 6:00 PM and 5:45 PM to 6:00 AM
• Rotation pattern: two weeks of day shifts followed by two weeks of night shifts, with the schedule subject to change

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this role is $28.41 to $29.56.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out sanitation tasks in line with SSOPs to support food safety and regulatory compliance
• Keep production lines clean through both routine cleaning and more intensive deep-cleaning work
• Use sanitation tools and equipment safely and report any equipment concerns quickly
• Work with teammates to make sure all sanitation duties are completed effectively
• Track and record sanitation work accurately and consistently
• Spot and escalate safety issues, operational risks, or barriers that could affect work
• Help prepare the plant for audits, inspections, and facility tours

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Availability to work rotating continental day and night shifts
• Good written and spoken English communication skills
• Ability to follow directions and work independently as well as with a team
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repeated movements such as standing, bending, and climbing
• Dependable, punctual, and able to perform well in a fast-paced setting
• Clear criminal background check, or proof of pardon

Preferred Background

• Prior experience in sanitation, cleaning, or food manufacturing environments
• Mechanical aptitude for simple troubleshooting and minor equipment adjustments
• Experience following sanitation schedules and food safety requirements
• Strong interpersonal skills in a team-focused environment
• Comfort working in industrial conditions such as cold, wet, or noisy spaces
