Job Overview
West Wimmera Health Service is recruiting a Leisure & Lifestyle Assistant for a part-time role, requiring a minimum of 32 hours per fortnight, located at Rainbow, Marlborough, New Zealand. This position focuses on delivering a tailored Leisure and Lifestyle program to residents in aged care facilities, designed both for individual and group engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Leisure and Lifestyle activities respecting residents' preferences, community connections, and family involvement.
- Collaborate with nursing and Allied Health teams to ensure suitable activities for each resident.
- Keep precise records and documentation related to the Leisure and Lifestyle program.
- Coordinate support services to help residents participate in programs effectively.
- Report any concerns about residents’ welfare or changes in health status to the Nurse Unit Manager or relevant delegate.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Strong communication and organizational capabilities.
- Understanding of Aged Care Standards related to resident lifestyle and leisure.
- Time management skills to handle personal lifestyle programs, outings, documentation, and planning efficiently.
Preferred Attributes
- Certificate III in Individual Support or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience in a Leisure and Lifestyle Assistant role or similar setting.
- Proficiency in computer applications like Microsoft Word, Outlook, and electronic documentation systems.
- Flexibility in managing a varied caseload.
Mandatory Requirements
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
- Working with Children Check.
- Up-to-date vaccinations following the Department of Health directives, including influenza.
- Valid Australian Driver’s Licence.
