Job description
Responsibilities
Serve as the official Labour Welfare Officer at the Coimbatore facility, ensuring full compliance with relevant labour laws. Guarantee the provision and upkeep of all mandatory welfare amenities and maintain accurate statutory documentation to assist in audits or inspections. Foster a robust presence on the shop floor to strengthen employee connections and promptly identify potential employee relations issues. Address employee grievances impartially and within appropriate timelines, recommending corrective measures and ensuring follow-up. Support disciplinary procedures through thorough fact-finding and lead confidential investigations. Oversee welfare and compliance matters for contract workers.
- Promote industrial harmony and workforce stability.
- Detect recurrent themes in employee relations such as discipline, absenteeism, conduct, and communication gaps, recommending corrective and preventive strategies.
- Facilitate focused training sessions for supervisors and frontline managers to enhance skills in grievance management, respectful workplace conduct, and fair disciplinary actions.
Ethical and Safe Workplace (POSH)
- Ensure the effective application of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) policy within the plant.
- Support the activities of the Internal Committee, ensuring compliance with statutory timelines, proper documentation, and confidentiality standards.
- Lead periodic awareness programs for employees and supervisors to reinforce standards for respectful and safe workplace behavior.
- Monitor workplace trends and propose preventive measures to strengthen safety and inclusion.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Labour Welfare, or a related discipline.
- 8 to 10 years of experience in plant-based employee relations or labour welfare roles.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Indian labour legislation.
- Experience managing shop floor operations and contract labour workforce.
- High ethical standards and excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing within Tamil Nadu.
- Familiarity with disciplinary inquiries and POSH policy enforcement.
- Formal training in employee relations or labour welfare.
