About the Role

EY is committed to empowering your professional growth within a globally diverse and inclusive environment. We are currently seeking to fill two Employee Relations Manager positions at the Assistant Director level due to internal promotions and an upcoming parental leave. These roles include one permanent full-time role and one 12-month parental leave contract. You will be part of a thriving team focused on fostering a high-performance culture by offering senior-level expertise in managing complex employee relations matters, without direct people management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex, high-risk employee relations issues, providing pragmatic and commercially viable advice to leaders and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners, General Counsel, and Talent Centres of Excellence to manage investigations, restructures, acquisitions, and sensitive employee concerns.
  • Offer expert guidance and informal coaching to Employee Relations Advisors and participate in projects related to employee relations policies, legislative changes, and process enhancements.

Required Skills and Attributes

  • Substantial experience handling complex and escalated employee relations cases.
  • In-depth understanding of employment legislation, statutory requirements, case law, awards, and emerging employee relations trends.
  • Proven ability to influence and partner effectively with senior leadership across the organisation.
  • Experience applying employment law and employee relations practices in both New Zealand and Australia is highly regarded.
  • A solutions-oriented approach to managing ambiguous and complex challenges.
  • Capacity to work independently while collaborating successfully within a specialized team.
  • Demonstrated skill in managing diverse stakeholders and sensitive situations with confidentiality and tact.

What We Offer

  • Career development opportunities with future-focused skill building and world-class experiences.
  • Flexible working arrangements supporting a balance between professional and personal life.
  • A robust benefits package including an annual wellness incentive, up to 8 additional weeks of flexible leave per year, and family-friendly policies such as up to 26 weeks of gender-neutral paid parental leave.

Additional Information

These roles are hybrid and based in any EY office across Australia or Auckland, New Zealand, with potential for flexible or reduced hours subject to discussion. EY values inclusiveness and encourages applications from candidates of diverse backgrounds and identities. Confidential support and adjustments during the recruitment process are available upon request. Successful candidates will undergo employment screening through EY or an external provider.
