Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated HSE Manager at our Schwandorf location to proactively enhance our safety culture. This role will act as the principal contact for all Health, Safety & Environment activities, managing operational, technical, and project-related responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and continuously develop the HSE management system at the Schwandorf site.
Advise and support management and employees on occupational health, safety, and environmental protection matters.
Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, customer-specific, and corporate HSE requirements.
Oversee HSE-related aspects of service, maintenance, operations, engineering, construction, and commissioning projects.
Perform and enhance risk assessments, hazard analyses, HSE plans, work instructions, and safe working procedures.
Plan, execute, and follow up on HSE audits, inspections, site walkthroughs, and compliance initiatives.
Oversee high-risk tasks like working at heights, lifting operations, electrical work, lockout-tagout (LOTO), hot work, and hazardous materials management.
Investigate accidents, near misses, and environmental incidents including root cause analysis and corrective action management.
Design and deliver HSE training, safety campaigns, emergency drills, and initiatives to strengthen the safety culture sustainably.
Collaborate closely with corporate HSE, authorities, clients, contractors, occupational health professionals, and internal and external stakeholders, including frequent travel to project, plant, and service sites across Germany and Europe.

Qualifications

Degree in engineering, safety engineering, or equivalent technical qualification (technician, master craftsman, or similar).
Certified occupational safety specialist (FASI) qualification.
Several years of professional experience in HSE, preferably in plant construction, operations, or service business.
Solid knowledge of integrated management systems and standards including ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and common HSE reporting systems.
Strong understanding of German occupational health, safety, and environmental legislation.
Excellent German language skills and good English communication abilities, both written and spoken.
Willingness to travel regularly to various project, plant, and service locations within Germany and Europe.
