Job description
Role Overview
Join St. Regis Hotels & Resorts as an Attendant in the Shipping & Receiving department located at The Pearl Island, Doha, Qatar. This non-management full-time role involves handling incoming and outgoing shipments with accuracy and professionalism while maintaining the standards of the company.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and process shipments, ensuring accountability matches invoices and receiving reports.
- Sort merchandise by department, label storage locations appropriately, and deliver goods to the correct departments.
- Verify received stock, track inventory, and maintain accurate reporting and records.
- Reconcile transportation invoices and receiving documents to confirm shipment accuracy.
- Handle incoming and outgoing departmental packages and mail with care and security.
- Maintain the reception area and safeguard contents, ensuring proper custody of packages.
- Comply fully with company safety policies and procedures, promptly reporting maintenance issues, hazards, accidents, or injuries.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance, including proper uniform wear.
- Protect company information confidentiality and physical assets.
- Support colleagues respectfully to cultivate teamwork and help achieve shared goals.
- Adhere to quality assurance standards and fulfill expectations set for the role.
- Perform physical tasks such as moving, lifting, pushing, pulling, or placing objects up to 50 pounds (22.5 kg) without assistance.
- Visually read and verify information in various formats, including fine print.
- Inspect tools, equipment, or machinery visually for defects.
- Manipulate objects needing fine motor skills and good hand-eye coordination.
- Reach above head, below knees, bend, twist, crawl, and stoop as needed during tasks.
- Navigate tight, confined, elevated, or uneven and slippery spaces, including stairs and ramps.
- Perform additional reasonable tasks assigned by supervisors.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
- Experience: No prior related work or supervisory experience required.
- Licenses/Certifications: None required.
