Job Overview
The Admissions Counselor plays an essential role in administrative and clerical support within office procedures. Duties include answering phones, processing and mailing documents, scheduling appointments, typing, operating office equipment, and filing. This role also coordinates intake assessments and liaises between site staff and external organizations.
Work Schedule and Compensation
Full-time position with working hours from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM Eastern, Monday through Friday. The hourly pay ranges from $23.51 to $28.00 depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial intake assessments and manage prospective client caseloads.
- Submit clinical and medical documentation for review by registered nurses and doctors.
- Work collaboratively with Evaluation Clinicians when necessary.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients, their families, and referring hospitals or programs.
- Promote teamwork with the outpatient treatment team.
- Organize admission dates together with admissions and program staff.
- Undertake additional duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Preferred bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related discipline.
- Strong customer service skills combined with professionalism, patience, and empathy.
- Ability to multitask effectively and meet keyboarding proficiency standards.
- A sense of urgency coupled with a sales-focused attitude.
- Mental health experience is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Salesforce and electronic medical/health record systems preferred.
