Job Overview
The Community College of Qatar's Science & Math unit invites applications for a distinguished faculty member specializing in Mathematics or Statistics. The candidate will engage in delivering college-level and foundation courses in math and statistics, contribute actively to the department's teaching excellence, provide student mentoring and advising, and promote an inclusive learning atmosphere.
Responsibilities
- Instruct a variety of mathematics and statistics courses offered by the unit, integrating technological tools as necessary.
- Advise students, partake in course and curriculum development, pursue professional growth activities, and participate in service duties assigned by the Chair at unit, college, and community levels.
- Teach foundation and college-level math and statistics classes during daytime and/or evening hours across multiple campuses.
- Follow the instructional plans established by the department and adhere to assigned contact hours.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance and submit required documentation punctually.
- Hold consistent office hours to support student learning.
- Plan lessons and assignments aligning with the college and departmental quality benchmarks.
- Create assessments in accordance with the syllabus and guidelines to evaluate student progress, including grading examinations and assignments.
- Communicate proficiently in both Arabic and English languages while maintaining professional and ethical standards in all interactions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess expertise in teaching one or more areas such as algebra, analysis, geometry, applied mathematics, probability theory, or statistical methods.
- Demonstrate the ability to clearly explain complex mathematical concepts to varied student groups.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal abilities to foster collaboration within a multidisciplinary academic setting that values diversity and inclusion.
- Hold a minimum of three years of undergraduate teaching and mentoring experience, preferably with GCC experience being advantageous.
- Educational requirement: Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or related fields.
