About the Role

This permanent, full-time position is based in Rotorua, Bay of Plenty, New Zealand, offering an excellent work-life balance within a vibrant outdoor environment. Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of speech and language theory, research, child and human development, and learning and behaviour.
  • Ability to convert specialist knowledge into actionable practical guidance.
  • Experience coordinating services within a multi-agency, trans-disciplinary environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with learners, families, and educators across diverse settings.
  • Understanding and application of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga.
  • Possession of a current full driver’s license due to travel requirements.
  • Commitment to uphold the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.

This role is part of Te Mahau | Education Services Group, which offers integrated educational services intended to support the efficient functioning of educational settings and to enhance student participation and achievement. The Learning Support team specifically focuses on ensuring children and young people with additional learning needs can reach their potential. The team collaborates closely with families, schools, and other agencies across both English and Māori mediums.

Additional Information

Salary: $69,966 - $106,016 per annum plus KiwiSaver; exact placement will match the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
