Overview
The Senior Credit Analyst plays a vital role in evaluating lending proposals through in-depth credit analysis and decision-making. The role requires close collaboration with developers, builders, risk teams, and legal and technical agencies to ensure rigorous compliance and quality of the lending portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with developers and builders to assess project viability regarding scale, progress, and financial health.
- Advise on deal structuring to ensure alignment with internal risk policies and external regulatory standards.
- Analyze financial statements, balance sheets, and recent results of developers and related entities.
- Conduct background research on projects, developers, and market conditions, highlighting potential risks to protect portfolio quality.
- Coordinate with legal and technical teams to identify and mitigate property-related risks.
- Stay updated on statutory real estate regulations and interpret their impact on lending.
- Manage direct interactions with developer finance and accounting teams for timely and accurate information exchange.
- Create detailed credit memos for submission to risk teams or credit committees and follow up to expedite approvals.
- Ensure complete and accurate loan documentation is executed, mortgage security is properly created, and titles are clear.
- Adhere strictly to internal risk management practices and regulatory compliance guidelines.
- Incorporate ABFL credit risk strategies in proposals, working closely with Central Risk teams to identify and mitigate risk areas.
- Monitor asset quality proactively, targeting minimization of non-performing assets (NPAs) in the region.
- Identify, recommend, and manage appointment of local vendors including valuers, legal experts, fraud containment agencies, and field investigators.
- Oversee vendor turnaround times to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain regular training and performance assessments.
- Implement and monitor adherence to standardized operating procedures for credit assessment locally.
- Drive continuous improvements in credit approval processes, ensuring product safety and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure accurate data capture for management information systems supporting business decisions.
- Provide training to credit and sales teams on product knowledge, process updates, legal and technical aspects.
- Handle customer escalations and complaints during and after loan disbursement in coordination with legal teams.
