Role overview
MakeMyTrip is hiring a Senior Business Analyst in Bengaluru for an experienced analytics professional with 3 to 5 years of relevant background. The role blends advanced business analysis, BI engineering, data architecture, and cross-functional leadership, with a strong focus on travel and revenue analytics.
What you will do
- Investigate major business fluctuations, such as sudden booking declines or spikes in cancellations, and turn the findings into fast, practical action plans.
- Use cohort analysis, funnel analysis, and forecasting methods to anticipate seasonal travel demand.
- Develop heuristic and predictive models that support additional ancillary revenue and operational improvements.
- Build and support executive dashboards in Power BI, including complex DAX calculations and Power Query transformations.
- Oversee ETL workflows and data pipelines using SSIS, SSAS, or similar orchestration tools.
- Take ownership of data models, transformation layers, SQL views, and stored procedures to keep reporting inputs accurate and reliable.
- Mentor data analysts, set performance expectations, and help shape a high-performing analytics team.
- Work closely with Product, Business Development, and Engineering teams to translate insights into product and feature decisions.
- Analyze demand-supply imbalances, inventory usage, and pricing performance across routes and markets.
- Study conversion paths, shopping-cart drop-offs, and cancellation bottlenecks to improve retention.
- Support campaign and loyalty analysis with marketing teams to measure and refine promotions and rewards.
Technical and domain expertise
- Expert-level SQL and T-SQL for query tuning, view development, and complex analytical querying.
- Strong Python skills for exploratory data analysis, hypothesis testing, and basic machine learning implementation.
- Working knowledge of the Microsoft BI stack, including SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS.
- Experience with product analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or clickstream event tracking is strongly preferred.
