Role Overview
This position focuses on quality control and root cause analysis within the tractor manufacturing process at TAFE, ensuring compliance with inspection standards and prompt corrective measures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections of incoming lots, including sampling and layout checks following predefined dimensional inspection standards.
- Carry out root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for supplier rejections related to engine assembly, testing, and pre-delivery inspections on a daily basis.
- Manage goods receipt note clearance and communicate supplier rejection statuses to all relevant stakeholders via email and SAP, ensuring disposition is completed within 24 hours.
- Monitor monthly casting commodity defects by tracking parts per million (PPM) metrics and initiate corrective actions for the top ten defect contributors.
- Conduct daily root cause investigations and corrective actions for early failure occurrences (under 50 hours) during installation, commissioning, export to OEMs, and field failures, including site visits when necessary.
- Perform periodic and joint supplier process audits focused on repetitive or critical failure issues.
- Participate in joint supplier assessments during the development stages of new, modified (Engineering Change Notices), or alternate source parts.
- Oversee segregation and rework processes of supplier defects daily, coordinating corrective measures with concerned parties.
- Execute periodic warehouse audits and collaborate on corrective actions with relevant stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should hold a B.Tech or B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering and be equipped with skills in RCA, machining processes, Six Sigma, APQP, FMEA, PPM monitoring, and the Why-Why analysis method.
