Quality Inspector - Civil

Position Overview and Responsibilities

The role involves overseeing civil construction activities on site to ensure all works adhere to approved designs, specifications, quality benchmarks, and project requirements. The inspector will supervise workmanship and contractor output, promptly addressing any technical or quality issues to keep the project on schedule.

• Supervise and inspect on-site civil works for compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Monitor contractor workmanship, progress, and resolve any technical or quality-related concerns in a timely manner.
• Assess civil shop drawings, material submissions, method statements, inspection requests, and associated technical documents.
• Inspect various civil construction phases including excavation, foundations, reinforced concrete, blockwork, plastering, waterproofing, finishes, roads, pavements, and external works.
• Confirm usage of approved materials and ensure all works comply with project specs, codes, and health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
• Oversee inspection and testing activities, keeping thorough records and documentation.
• Prepare detailed daily site reports, inspection logs, non-conformance reports (NCRs), progress updates, and maintain complete site records.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, project engineers, and contractors to facilitate successful project execution and timely quality issue resolution.
• Review technical queries, site instructions, variations, and design changes to avoid delays and uphold quality standards.
• Ensure corrective measures for non-conformances are effectively implemented and closed promptly.
• Maintain strict compliance with company quality, safety, and environmental procedures.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Five to eight years of experience in civil quality inspection, site supervision, or construction supervision roles.
• Experience with residential, villa, hospitality, or large-scale building projects.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction methods including reinforced concrete, finishing, waterproofing, and external infrastructure relevant to villa developments.
• Proven ability to conduct site inspections, review QA/QC documentation, and monitor contractor quality performance.
• Sound understanding of construction standards, quality control processes, inspection and testing protocols, and health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Ability to interpret civil drawings, project specifications, and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with inspection and test plans (ITPs), material approvals, method statements, and managing NCRs.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and coordination abilities.
