About the Role and Company
Morningstar, Inc., a prominent global provider of independent investment insights, seeks a dedicated QA Automation Engineer based in Mumbai. The company supports a diverse range of market participants through advanced products and solutions across public and private capital markets. Responsibilities
- Analyze requirements, design, and develop both functional and automated test cases ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
- Take full ownership and responsibility for QA deliverables.
- Act as an individual contributor within the QA team.
- Engage in team communications and collaborate proactively during planning sessions such as daily stand-ups and retrospectives.
- Provide consistent and clear updates on project progress, including completed tasks, ongoing work, upcoming activities, risks, and quality status to stakeholders, product managers, and peers.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of two years' experience in Quality Assurance and Testing with substantial hands-on experience in automation frameworks.
- Expertise in Selenium WebDriver for UI Automation and strong knowledge of automation framework development.
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools like ALM, Testrail, and JIRA.
- Comfortable with Agile methodologies and practices.
- Proficient in Java and JavaScript programming languages, including libraries and frameworks such as Angular, jQuery, and TypeScript.
- Solid understanding and practical experience in manual and automated API testing using Rest Assured framework and Ready API.
- Familiarity with performance and security testing tools is advantageous.
- Knowledge of AWS or cloud environments considered a plus.
- Ability to develop and execute clear use cases derived from product requirements and log defects systematically.
- Proactive, self-driven mindset with the capacity to build flexible, scalable automation frameworks and integrate automation into continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Experience authoring comprehensive test automation frameworks spanning UI, back-end integration, and database testing.
- Use SQL proficiently for writing and understanding complex queries and procedures.
