About the Role

This position is part of the Infrastructure and Assets Group committed to providing reliable infrastructure and services that enhance current community life and secure a prosperous future. We seek a relationship-oriented Project Manager adept at executing complex infrastructure initiatives through effective stakeholder engagement, disciplined project oversight, and collaborative leadership.

Joining our Design and Delivery team, you will oversee a varied range of capital projects that contribute to shaping Hamilton's future. Ideal candidates will possess expertise in Heating Venting and Cooling (HVAC), mechanical services, building systems, or extensive experience in vertical infrastructure or building construction project management. You will work closely with technical specialists, consultants, contractors, governance bodies, and community members to achieve excellent outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle delivery of intricate capital projects
• Manage relationships with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to meet project goals
• Forge strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
• Implement rigorous project governance, reporting, and controls
• Identify and mitigate commercial, operational, and delivery risks
• Ensure alignment of projects with Council standards and community objectives
• Promote a culture focused on continuous improvement, collaboration, and excellence

Skills and Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in relevant fields and/or formal project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
• Proven record managing infrastructure, building, or construction projects
• Strong commercial insight and contract management expertise
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
• Proactive and solution-oriented mindset with leadership through influence
• Combination of technical credibility and relationship-building skills with an outcome-driven approach

Additional Information

Salary: Approximately NZD 117,000, dependent on experience and skills.
