Project Director

About the Role

We are looking for an accomplished Project Director to lead a major new rail programme. This senior leadership role involves steering project execution and working closely with an internationally experienced team. It is a long-term position offering an opportunity to significantly contribute to a major transport infrastructure initiative.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure successful completion of extensive rail infrastructure works.
• Lead collaboration among multidisciplinary teams, consultants, and contractors.
• Oversee programme management including budget control, risk mitigation, quality assurance, and overall project performance.
• Facilitate efficient coordination among joint venture partners, clients, project management consultants, and delivery groups.
• Guarantee adherence to contractual, technical, safety, and quality standards.
• Deliver high-level reporting to stakeholders and manage their expectations effectively.
• Identify and manage resolution of complex project challenges and risks.
• Ensure smooth integration of tunnelling operations with broader rail infrastructure efforts.

Candidate Requirements

• Substantial experience on significant rail infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated leadership at the Project Director, Programme Director, or equivalent senior project management level.
• Strong track record in managing complex, high-value rail programmes.
• Essential expertise in tunnelling works.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
• In-depth knowledge of project controls, programme management, commercial execution, and risk management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Previous international project experience is advantageous.
