Role Overview
The Amazon team in Cape Town is a dynamic, mission-driven group dedicated to delivering high-quality and swift results. This position entails collaborating with diverse stakeholders including operations, technical, business, retail, and finance teams. The primary focus of this role is to analyze customer behaviors and trends to identify opportunities that enhance site-level metrics such as traffic, conversion rates, and order profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive product roadmaps aligned with business strategy.
- Define detailed product requirements that guide development and implementation.
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, legal, finance, and business units to build and refine products.
- Continuously analyze product performance and iterate based on both customer feedback and business data.
- Prioritize product opportunities by evaluating potential business impact and value for customers.
Expectations and Approach
The successful candidate will adeptly navigate uncertainty, cutting through distractions to identify core challenges. They will partner seamlessly with stakeholders from operations, technology, and business teams—including stock management, operational excellence, marketing, and category teams—to construct top-tier solutions, all while maintaining a rapid development tempo.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least three years of product management experience.
- Proven track record managing technical products or online services.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in product, program, or project management roles to deliver significant new products or services.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and VBA.
- Expertise in building and analyzing cost-benefit scenarios and business cases, with the ability to communicate findings effectively across the organization.
