About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned Procurement and Contracts Officer to join a Queensland Government team located in Brisbane CBD. This contract position lasts for an initial 11 months with the possibility of extension and involves a hybrid working arrangement with 2 days remote work weekly.
Key Responsibilities
- Support procurement activities focused on low-value and low-risk categories.
- Develop procurement plans, prepare evaluation documentation, and create briefing notes.
- Process purchase requisitions and manage vendor requests efficiently.
- Coordinate with external suppliers, finance departments, and internal stakeholders.
- Keep procurement records organized through SharePoint and shared network drives.
- Assist in resolving issues related to purchase orders and vendor discrepancies.
- Offer guidance on procurement procedures and compliance requirements.
Candidate Profile
- Prior experience in procurement or purchasing roles.
- Familiarity with procurement policies and best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.
- Strong focus on detail and effective records management.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and collaborate within a compact team.
- Experience with SAP procurement software.
- Competent in SharePoint for document management.
- Possession of procurement certification is highly advantageous.
Additional Information
