Procurement Officer

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Procurement and Contracts Officer to join a Queensland Government team located in Brisbane CBD. This contract position lasts for an initial 11 months with the possibility of extension and involves a hybrid working arrangement with 2 days remote work weekly.

Key Responsibilities

• Support procurement activities focused on low-value and low-risk categories.
• Develop procurement plans, prepare evaluation documentation, and create briefing notes.
• Process purchase requisitions and manage vendor requests efficiently.
• Coordinate with external suppliers, finance departments, and internal stakeholders.
• Keep procurement records organized through SharePoint and shared network drives.
• Assist in resolving issues related to purchase orders and vendor discrepancies.
• Offer guidance on procurement procedures and compliance requirements.

Candidate Profile

• Prior experience in procurement or purchasing roles.
• Familiarity with procurement policies and best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.
• Strong focus on detail and effective records management.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and collaborate within a compact team.
• Experience with SAP procurement software.
• Competent in SharePoint for document management.
• Possession of procurement certification is highly advantageous.

Additional Information
