Overview
An established industrial organization is looking to appoint a Procurement Manager responsible for sourcing activities, supplier relations, and managing procurement operations across various business locations. This role works closely with category leaders and integral stakeholders to apply procurement strategies, elevate supplier performance, and generate organizational value through solid sourcing and contract oversight. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in procurement and sourcing, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and a drive for continuous process enhancements.
Key Duties
- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with category leadership and company goals.
- Convert sourcing and category plans into practical procurement actions.
- Handle operational procurement of goods and services ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality standards, and service levels.
- Oversee contract administration ensuring adherence to internal norms and policies.
Supplier Management and Strategic Sourcing
- Lead end-to-end supplier sourcing, evaluations, negotiations, and onboarding procedures.
- Track supplier performance continuously and promote accountability through regular review and improvement efforts.
- Forge and sustain strong supplier partnerships to support long-term objectives.
- Identify chances to refine sourcing tactics, cut costs, and enhance supplier outcomes.
Collaboration With Stakeholders
- Engage with internal teams to understand operational demands and align procurement accordingly.
- Assist cross-departmental projects ensuring sourcing decisions bolster operational aims.
- Communicate procurement strategies, challenges, and prospects to stakeholders consistently.
Continuous Improvement and Compliance
- Pinpoint enhancements in procurement processes, controls, and reporting mechanisms.
- Contribute to the creation and application of procurement best practices.
- Utilize spend and supplier data analytics to support decision-making and achieve cost reductions.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 5 years in procurement, sourcing, category management, or supply chain functions.
- Comprehensive knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier management, and procurement workflows.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in collaborative, cross-functional environments.
- Strong analytical thinking, negotiation, and problem resolution capabilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship management skills.
- Ability to juggling multiple priorities and deliver in dynamic settings.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and enterprise business systems.
Preferred Industry Experience
- Background in manufacturing, industrial, construction, or asset-heavy sectors is advantageous.
- Experience with procurement metrics, strategic sourcing projects, and continuous improvement initiatives is preferred.
Travel Requirements
This role requires travel about 20-30% of the time as necessary.
