The Marketing Program Manager - Impact will spearhead the creation and implementation of REI’s annual Impact marketing strategy, managing integrated campaigns, standalone initiatives, and sustaining marketing support for a portfolio of programs that advance REI’s Impact narrative.

Impact Portfolio

Advocacy and policy efforts via the Cooperative Action Network
Non-profit grant funding through the Cooperative Action Fund
Support for entrepreneurs and startups via the Path Ahead Ventures program
Advancing inclusivity in outdoor activities
Promoting sustainability and climate action

Key Responsibilities

Translate enterprise and individual program priorities into targeted marketing strategies, channel plans, and measurable marketing objectives
Collaborate with Impact program partners and marketing teams to create values-driven marketing reflecting REI's commitment to people, planet, and communities
Develop integrated marketing plans from concept to execution and optimization aligned with customer insights and enterprise priorities
Contribute marketing perspectives to shape strategy, enhance workflows, and elevate Impact's presence in enterprise and ongoing campaigns
Partner with campaign teams to ensure alignment of Impact priorities within broader marketing efforts
Act as a daily marketing liaison to Impact program leads and coordinate with cross-functional teams across Lifecycle, Paid Media, Email, Social, Content, Creative, PR, Local Marketing, and Store Operations
Brief creative and content teams with clear goals and success metrics
Ensure alignment and clarity across teams throughout campaign execution and manage dependencies and approvals
Build trusted partnerships with internal and external stakeholders as the main marketing contact
Track performance metrics and work with channel teams to deliver marketing recaps, insights, and optimization opportunities
Apply test-and-learn methods to continually improve Impact marketing effectiveness
Support development and adoption of marketing processes, templates, and workflows to enhance efficiency and consistency
Exemplify REI’s values and mission in all marketing activities

Qualifications and Experience

4 to 6+ years experience in marketing or related fields
Background in social impact, corporate social responsibility, or related sectors
Strong grasp of marketing fundamentals encompassing owned, earned, and paid channels
Skilled in partnering with creative and content teams
Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
Comfortable working in values-led, sensitive, and reputation-aware environments
Understanding of consumer behavior and applying insights to marketing decisions
Exceptional communication skills capable of engaging diverse teams and leadership levels
Self-motivated, accountable, positive mindset, maintaining composure and adaptability
Bachelor’s degree is mandatory
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Compensation

Annual salary range: $85,400 to $136,700
