Role Overview
Mongabay, a prominent environmental science and conservation news organization, seeks a Managing Editor focused on Africa. This full-time role involves leading and shaping impactful environmental journalism across the African continent.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage a team of editors and reporters.
- Commission and edit original, insightful stories.
- Lead editorial projects from conception to completion.
- Develop and reinforce partnerships with other media organizations.
- Ensure that all reporting is accurate, based on facts, and delivered in a timely manner.
Candidate Profile and Experience
- Minimum of eight years working as an editor in a news organization.
- Ability to coordinate efficiently with colleagues across multiple time zones is highly preferred.
