Role Overview

Mongabay, a prominent environmental science and conservation news organization, seeks a Managing Editor focused on Africa. This full-time role involves leading and shaping impactful environmental journalism across the African continent.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage a team of editors and reporters.
Commission and edit original, insightful stories.
Lead editorial projects from conception to completion.
Develop and reinforce partnerships with other media organizations.
Ensure that all reporting is accurate, based on facts, and delivered in a timely manner.

Candidate Profile and Experience

Minimum of eight years working as an editor in a news organization.
Ability to coordinate efficiently with colleagues across multiple time zones is highly preferred.
