About the Role
The Junior Buyer in Indirect Procurement plays a vital role supporting the sourcing of non-direct goods and services, as well as managing supplier relationships for Soho House locations across North America. Reporting directly to the Head of Indirect Procurement - North America, this position involves assisting with sourcing requests, maintaining supplier contracts, analyzing spending data, and driving procurement projects aimed at operational efficiency and cost reduction.
This position offers a great chance for individuals interested in developing a strategic sourcing and procurement career within the hospitality sector.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in procuring indirect materials such as marketing collateral, hotel amenities, kitchen tools, and various operational supplies.
- Participation in competitive sourcing events by collecting supplier quotes, evaluating proposals, and compiling recommendation reports.
- Support sourcing, onboarding, and management of suppliers for new business projects.
- Analyze procurement data to uncover cost-saving opportunities and monitor spending patterns.
- Keep procurement files, contracts, pricing details, and sourcing documentation up to date.
- Assist in rolling out, adopting, and refining procurement procedures and systems.
- Respond to procurement, supplier, and product queries from operational teams as a liaison.
- Collaborate with purchasing teams on-site to support new initiatives and product introductions across North America.
- Engage in cross-functional procurement efforts and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain, Hospitality Management, Finance, or related fields.
- Between one and three years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, hospitality, or administrative roles.
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Comfortable working with data, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer-service oriented with demonstrated ability to build interdepartmental relationships.
- Analytical mindset with solid problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with procurement or ERP software like Adaco, Coupa, SAP, or Oracle is advantageous.
Preferred Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP) are a plus.
- Previous work experience in hospitality, retail, food & beverage, or multi-location operations is beneficial.
- Knowledge of procurement best practices and supplier management techniques.
- Interest in advancing a career in strategic sourcing or supply chain management.

Salary Information
In compliance with New York State regulations, the salary range for this position in New York is $70,000 annually. Salary for other locations may differ based on local market conditions. Final compensation will reflect experience and applicable legal factors.
