IT Support Engineer

About the Role

EIL Global, a prominent IT service provider specializing in End User Computing, Infrastructure, Networking, and Data Centre support across Asia Pacific and EMEA, is seeking experienced IT Support Engineers to deliver on-call, freelance, onsite support in Timaru, Canterbury, New Zealand. The role involves hands-on technical assistance at the client site located at South Canterbury Cnr Victoria & Brown Streets.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide onsite desktop technical support resolving hardware and software issues promptly.
• Carry out installations, upgrades, and re-imaging of Windows operating systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems related to desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices.
• Conduct basic network troubleshooting within LAN and WAN environments.
• Configure and rectify issues with network hardware including routers and switches.
• Ensure timely responses to service requests while upholding high customer satisfaction levels.
• Accurately document all support activities, troubleshooting procedures, and solutions implemented.
• Collaborate effectively with internal teams and client representatives to facilitate seamless service delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum three years’ experience in IT support roles such as desktop support or field services.
• Proven expertise in desktop hardware and software fault diagnosis and repair.
• Solid understanding of networking principles, especially LAN, WAN, and network device configuration.
• Experience with operating system deployment, imaging techniques, and break-fix procedures.
• Strong communication and customer service aptitude.
• Capable of independent work and managing multiple onsite tasks efficiently.
