Role Overview
This role sits at the core of an expanding company, requiring hands-on expertise across diverse security domains. You will lead daily operations related to physical, personnel, and IT security, functioning as the organisation's IT Security Officer (ITSO) and Data Protection Officer (DPO).
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee physical security measures including access control, visitor protocols, and incident documentation within company sites.
- Manage security vetting workflows, renewals, and accurate record maintenance.
- Collaborate with the Network Security Engineer and CIS team to apply and monitor IT security controls as ITSO.
- Ensure compliance with UK GDPR regulations and manage data protection risks in the capacity of DPO.
- Coordinate cyber security assurance initiatives.
- Support in handling data-related incidents, conducting investigations, and producing reports.
- Maintain security documentation such as policies, risk registers, and assist in audits and assurance processes.
- Ensure adherence to applicable STAMP standards, company policies, and contractual security requirements.
- Promote security awareness by delivering guidance, training sessions, and technical workshops company-wide.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience managing physical, personnel, and IT security in regulated settings.
- Knowledge of MOD or NCSC Security Guidance along with GOV007S standards.
- Hands-on involvement with security vetting procedures.
- Firm grasp of IT and network security fundamentals.
- Experience in the role of a Data Protection Officer and knowledge of UK GDPR compliance.
- Excellent skills in organization, communication, and document management.
- Candidate must qualify for UK Security Clearance.
- Familiarity with Cyber Security Model V4 (ISN 25/07), ISO 27001 or related frameworks considered advantageous.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in security disciplines.
- Experience in regulated, technical, or defence-related sectors preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
