About the Role

An established manufacturing company based in Galway City is seeking a proactive and strategic Human Resources Business Partner to lead the onsite HR operations. This permanent, fully onsite position involves joining the Senior Leadership Team and managing a dynamic HR function in a busy environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the onsite HR team, including HR Generalist and HR Administrator roles, ensuring efficient workload distribution and consistent delivery of high-quality HR services.
  • Build a collaborative and high-performing HR department focused on continuous process improvement.
  • Act as a trusted business partner to site leadership by providing insights based on HR metrics such as turnover, absenteeism, labor costs, training compliance, and retention to align with business strategies.
  • Support workforce planning, organisational structure design, succession planning, and talent pipelines for key business-critical positions.
  • Manage complex employee relations issues by ensuring timely, equitable, and compliant resolutions.
  • Provide guidance to managers on performance management, conduct, attendance, and conflict resolutions.
  • Ensure consistent application of policies and adherence to employment laws and company standards.
  • Oversee end-to-end talent acquisition and onboarding processes; lead major hiring campaigns when necessary.
  • Track and maintain compliance with training requirements, manage grants, and support audit preparations with detailed documentation.
  • Lead leadership development and competency building initiatives for supervisors and frontline management.
  • Maintain accuracy and compliance of HR documents, contracts, HRIS data, and training records.
  • Coordinate the annual HR budget and forecasting including headcount and training spend.
  • Manage performance appraisal and compensation review processes alongside policy updates.
  • Drive site-wide engagement and continuous improvement projects.
  • Support health and safety culture by collaborating closely with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) teams.
  • Participate in daily leadership meetings and contribute to operational excellence initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • CIPD qualification is advantageous.
  • Minimum five years in HR management or business partnering roles, preferably within manufacturing or regulated sectors.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and influencing capabilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR operations including talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, and HRIS systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work onsite and manage occasional after-hours HR matters.

Benefits and Work Conditions

  • Competitive salary ranging from €70,000 to €80,000, dependent on experience.
  • Inclusive benefits package featuring health and dental insurance, pension contributions, death in service benefit, company phone and laptop, annual bonus, and long-service awards.
  • Early finish on Fridays (Monday-Thursday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, Friday 8:00 AM–3:00 PM), totaling 39 working hours per week.
  • Annual leave entitlement of 21 days with additional days based on length of service.
  • Business-related expenses fully reimbursed.
