Job Overview
The Group Product Manager takes ownership of the entire product discovery lifecycle within the aviation sector, ensuring the identification and development of innovative products aligned with commercial goals. This role is responsible for approving product roadmaps, managing budgets and pricing strategies for product launch and promotion, and delivering products that resonate emotionally and functionally with users.
Primary Responsibilities
- Own the product backlog and lead all delivery activities to ensure successful project execution.
- Provide guidance and remove obstacles for development teams during each sprint to maintain timely product delivery.
- Prepare user stories with clear acceptance criteria ahead of sprints to meet the definition of ready.
- Collaborate with the Product Manager to prioritize the backlog in a way that reflects product vision and customer needs.
- Act as the liaison bridging development and business teams, fostering continuous delivery of value.
- Review UX team's visual designs to ensure quality user interfaces.
- Evaluate quality assurance test cases and keep up-to-date with aviation market trends and competitor analysis to adopt industry best practices.
- Monitor team performance and escalate any deviations to Product Managers promptly.
- Represent the company in client meetings and consistently gather feedback on products and services.
- Provide coaching, direction, and career guidance to team members, cultivating an engaged and high-performing team environment.
- Manage people-related responsibilities in alignment with company policies.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Technical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Certifications such as Certified Scrum Master, PSPO, CSPO, PMP, or PRINCE II are advantageous.
- Strong technical understanding of software development and UI/UX design principles.
- Excellent analytical skills capable of interpreting complex data for actionable insights.
- Proficient with collaboration platforms including Slack and JIRA, as well as MS Office applications.
- Fluent in English.
Experience Required
- 12 to 15 years of progressive experience in product management, technical management, or related areas within the aviation domain.
- Expertise in technical solution design, architecture, and managing products through their full lifecycle.
- Experience in financial management including budgeting and cost control.
- Demonstrated success applying Agile and Scrum methodologies effectively.
- Proven capabilities in market research, benchmarking, policy drafting, and conducting feasibility studies.
