Front Line Officer - Quality Control (Outsourcing) Linen Fabric

Job Purpose

The role is focused on making sure finished outsourced or job-worked linen fabric meets quality standards through testing and inspection in the Bhiwandi warehouse, following the applicable SOPs.

Job Context & Major Challenges

• Evaluating the fabric’s hand feel during in-line checks can be difficult, especially when weather conditions change.
• Operators may make informal adjustments, so guidance and cross-verification of their outcomes are essential. Most quality issues arise from dimensional stability, seam slippage, dark shade rubbing fastness, and CSV, which means the production team must be continuously advised on these concerns.
• Manual testing involves a margin of error, so practical experience matters more than exact precision.
• One of the key challenges is deciding whether outsourced material should be returned to the supplier or repaired in the plant, since both cost and turnaround time have to be weighed carefully.

Key Result Areas

Testing and Inspection

• Carry out the right checks on outsourced goods and identify print-related defects such as digital print, discharge print, handprint issues, dagi, stains, shade mismatch, and white spots.
• Detect embroidery defects including missing motifs, incorrect designs, and holes caused during embroidery.
• Share material quality reports with the relevant teams.

Timely Delivery

• Follow up with vendors to ensure deliveries happen on time.
• Meet vendors to review defects, understand why they occurred, explain how they can be corrected for printing and embroidery, and support them with training and continuous improvement follow-ups.

Dispatch of Correct Material

• Make sure only the right material is sent out from the vendor.
• Arrange for rejected material to be corrected.
• Confirm that corrected material is tested again before it is dispatched.
