Overview
We are looking for a skilled Front End Developer specializing in React to join a dedicated team developing advanced web applications that contribute directly to safeguarding soldiers' lives through innovative technology. This role involves designing scalable React-based front-end architectures, integrating AI into user interfaces, and developing interactive mapping features.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain scalable React applications utilizing Redux and RTK Query for complex state management.
- Develop AI-powered UI components and modular widgets to enhance functionality and efficiency.
- Create and optimize high-performance location-based experiences with LeafletJS or similar mapping tools.
- Integrate and optimize complex REST APIs to ensure smooth front-end to back-end communication.
- Implement responsive UI styled with Material UI, CSS3, and modern design techniques.
- Maintain high code quality standards by implementing automated testing using Jest or Cypress.
- Offer guidance and mentorship to team members within the development group.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 3 years of professional software development experience focusing on React and Redux in production settings.
- Strong experience with TypeScript, modern JavaScript (ES6+), and responsive design best practices over a minimum of 3 years.
- Familiarity with full-stack concepts and API design, with Node.js experience considered a plus.
- Proficient with Git or Bitbucket, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing tools like Jest or React Testing Library.
- Ability to work in a hybrid model requiring presence 2-3 days a week onsite in Austin, TX.
- Eligibility and willingness to obtain or maintain a TS/SCI security clearance; current active clearance preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Experience customizing 2D and 3D mapping platforms such as Leaflet, Cesium, or Google Maps within React applications.
- Familiarity with Next.js for server-side rendering and performance improvements.
- Knowledge of data visualization libraries like D3.js for advanced map overlays.
- Background working in startup environments or leading Agile/Scrum teams.
- Understanding of Web Accessibility (A11y) standards.

Compensation
Salary may vary based on location, experience, skills, and government contract standards. The estimated range is $76,000 to $155,700 USD annually.
