About the Role
Join Huhtamaki, a global leader committed to sustainable packaging solutions aimed at making all packaging recyclable, reusable, or compostable. We ensure the safety and hygiene of food and beverages worldwide. As part of our team in Marion, IN, you'll contribute to a future-focused environment where safety, support, and impact are paramount.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and manage trash removal across all factory zones including the production floor, break rooms, smoking areas, storage, and office spaces.
- Oversee cleaning supply inventory and ensure availability of approved cleaning materials.
- Adhere to established cleaning protocols and suggest improvements when necessary.
- Conduct inspections to detect vandalism or unauthorized access and promptly report unsafe or irregular conditions.
- Thoroughly clean restrooms including floors, walls, fixtures, appliances, and mirrors, as well as restock necessary supplies.
- Clean walking and dining areas, maintain cleanliness of drinking fountains, and handle urgent clean-ups efficiently.
- Perform emergency cleaning duties in accordance with AIB standards and company policies without delay.
- Provide guidance and training support to third-party vendors to ensure understanding of expectations.
Qualifications and Physical Requirements
- High School diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Prior experience in industrial cleaning within a food manufacturing or food contact environment preferred.
- Capable of effective communication, reading, and following instructions accurately.
- Visual acuity for near and far vision is required.
- Physical demands include standing, stooping, kneeling, twisting, bending, reaching, and pulling for shifts exceeding eight hours, along with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in a production or warehouse setting characterized by noise and moving machinery.
