Job Overview
Within the Due Diligence team, the Due Diligence Analyst/Underwriter evaluates and manages risk for Rewards Network’s financial products. This role involves thorough analysis of financial information and credit risk to inform underwriting decisions. Partnering closely with sales and internal departments nationwide, the position ensures that financial offerings comply with company policies, align with risk guidelines, and support strategic goals.
This is a hybrid role requiring presence in our Chicago office Tuesday through Thursday.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments of merchants applying for cash advance products ensuring adherence to company policies.
- Analyze various financial documents including credit reports, business financial statements, bank and credit card statements to guide underwriting decisions.
- Evaluate merchant risk profiles to establish creditworthiness and calculate suitable funding approval amounts.
- Authorize approvals within policy limits or escalate for exceptions when required.
- Review contract documentation for accuracy, completeness, and legal compliance.
- Coordinate with sales and cross-functional teams to align risk evaluations with business objectives.
- Maintain detailed records of all due diligence and underwriting decisions for compliance and future auditing.
Requirements
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with creative thinking skills.
- Self-driven attitude with a strong work ethic, capable of independent decision-making and proactive issue resolution.
- Proficiency in databases and spreadsheets, especially intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with Salesforce is beneficial.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for conveying recommendations and negotiating terms internally and with sales teams.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Two to three years of relevant job experience.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related field.
- Preferred: Experience in merchant cash advance or loan underwriting.
Compensation & Benefits
- Full-time, non-exempt position offering competitive hourly pay ranging from $28 to $36, which annualizes to approximately $58,240 - $74,880 depending on experience and skills.
