Role Overview

The Assistant Store Manager position at HomeSense involves creating an encouraging and supportive workplace to inspire the team to deliver exceptional customer experiences. This engaging role offers daily challenges and dynamic work in a fast-paced retail setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee store performance by supporting sales goals and managing key operational areas such as merchandising, backroom activities, frontline service, cash management, markdown execution, scheduling, receiving, and shipping while focusing on shrink and damage reduction.
• Recruit, train, and develop store associates, acting as a mentor and role model to promote a productive and positive environment for both employees and customers.
• Communicate and implement company initiatives, action plans, targets, and changes within the store. Contribute to succession planning strategies.
• Execute strategies to achieve sales, expense management, and customer service objectives, while coordinating loss prevention and enhancing store layout and operational efficiency.

Candidate Profile

• A minimum of two years’ experience in retail leadership as an Assistant or Store Manager.
• Proven capabilities in leading, empowering, and developing large teams.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to influence, coach, and provide feedback effectively.
• Comprehensive knowledge of store operations including customer service, merchandising, people management, health & safety protocols, and loss prevention, with a consistent track record of following through on initiatives.

Compensation

The expected salary range is between $48,592 and $68,029 annually, with potential adjustments based on individual qualifications and experience.
