Role Overview
As an Assistant Store Manager, you will mentor and guide your team to provide exceptional service and help customers identify appropriate nutrition and pet products. You will be part of a passionate group of Pet Experts and enjoy the rewarding experience of assisting pet owners daily.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that all team members consistently meet customer service standards while maintaining positive community relations, including connections with organizations like the Humane Society.
- Lead recruitment, scheduling, training, task assignments, supervision, and coaching of store personnel.
- Ensure compliance with corporate operational procedures and standards among staff.
- Manage administrative tasks such as placing orders, inventory maintenance, conducting store and safety audits, coordinating minor repairs, and completing corporate paperwork.
- Drive team efforts to meet specified business targets and store results.
- Perform additional tasks as required to support store operations.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least 2 years of experience in customer service and retail store management.
- Strong eagerness to learn and develop within the pet care industry.
- Friendly, outgoing demeanor with excellent customer service skills.
- Availability to work scheduled hours including weekends and evenings.
- Reliable transportation to commute to the store.
- Ability to observe and coach employees on sales approaches and customer service excellence.
- Skill in recognizing team conflicts and escalating issues appropriately.
- Familiarity with operating POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- Physical capability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds.
- Experience in the pet care sector is advantageous.
