Role Overview
We are seeking experienced Surveyors to join our team either locally in Perth or via FIFO arrangements. Reporting to the Geospatial Manager, the Surveyor will ensure precise surveying support during all stages of civil and infrastructure project delivery. Key duties include conducting field surveys, interpreting design data, preparing as-built documentation, and maintaining alignment with project standards and safety requirements. This role is crucial for accuracy in construction and risk minimization, especially in complex marine works.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform field survey activities such as topographic surveys, construction layout, end-of-month reporting, and as-built surveys adhering to project schedules, specifications, and quality benchmarks.
- Manage the maintenance, calibration, and inventory of surveying equipment to maintain accuracy and dependability onsite.
- Ensure all surveying activities meet Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) standards and project timelines.
- Review engineering drawings and specifications to identify design modifications, assess impacts, and provide precise measurements and advice to project teams.
- Identify and apply innovative, cost-effective survey solutions.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to develop effective survey plans fulfilling project requirements.
- Mentor and supervise junior and graduate surveyors, supporting their growth and team effectiveness.
- Analyze survey data to generate accurate maps, models, and reports aiding project planning and decision-making.
- Prepare and review site-specific Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and promote a safety-focused work environment.
- Contribute to HSEQ reporting and continuous improvement programs.
Candidate Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Possession of Remote Pilots Licence (RePL) and Aviation Radio Operators Certificate (AROC) is desirable.
- Demonstrable experience in the civil and infrastructure sectors.
- Proficiency with surveying tools and software, including Total Stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
- Must have valid Australian working rights.
